Withered Flowers

by: Maral Maljian

You gave me flowers when you promised to be there.
Now it seems like you just don't care.
Your flowers withered and broke my heart.

You aren't here, you're in a world that's far apart.
Let me light a candle, and say a little prayer.
My eyes tear endlessly, life just isn't fair.
Why can't our flowers live on forever?
Then we could live side by side together.

Today is the day we say good-bye and give you back.
All I see are flowers on a shiny surface of black.
I wish I could go back too and see you once more.
I miss you already, you're all I lived for.
Soon enough the flowers I see will wither without a sound.
And like a cycle the world goes round and round.
I'll see you once more, I'll just have to wait until then.
In the mean time I'll light a candle and pray 'till we meet again.
