Genocide

by: Maral Maljian

This is a dedication to all those who suffered during the Armenian Genocide and all those who are vainly persecuted in the world.

They prayed to God humbly.
They lived their life simply.
They never wanted to hinder anyone.
But the invador wanted a job done.
No one ever knew that their innocent lives would be terribly altered so.
Altered to a destination of cold death by the lowest of the low.
They were dragged out of one of their true loves, their homeland.
Without any time to ask for a helping hand.
There was no explination, nor answer.
The invadors made life a disaster.
When the first blood was shed, the vain purpose became quite clear.
But it was too late to cry with only desert to hear.

Years later, though survivors thrive and are not dead.
Their souls expired when they saw their brothers' blood shed.
The wounds have not yet healed, they still bleed.
The pain still grows from the invadors seed.
Forgiveness can only be given when one admits the wrong.
But the invadors deny the truth; they've been lying all along.
But the truth we will always remember.
Unitl the invador will render-
To the cruel fact that lives were taken and torture was employed.
Though many were taken HOPE and FAITH will NEVER BE DESTROYED.
